Huskies hold on for a shut out win against Proctor Academy
On a cold Friday afternoon, New Hampton School faced Proctor Academy for the second time this season. It was a very exciting game. Both Proctor and New Hampton had their opportunities. Tate Perkins was able to make a pass to Davis Cronin, who scored the first goal of the game. Zai Nishimura had a nice breakaway, but Proctor's goalie made a nice save against him. Hong Joon Lee also had a nice shot on net, but at the end of the first half, the Huskies had a 1-0 lead.
For most of the second half, the game stayed very close. Proctor had their opportunities, but Walker Italia came up with some great saves. New Hampton's defense Yannik Esser, Yanlou Song, Oliver Segal, Suphawit Duangphumek, Tianshuo Ouyang, and Teddy Ecker kept the Huskies in the game. Late in the second half Davis Cronin had an offensive cross to Hong Joon Lee, and Hong Joon scored to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead. Shortly after the goal, Tate Perkins had an opportunity to score but just missed the net.
The Huskies were able to hold on for the win. Walker Italia picked up his first shut out of the season. Overall, it was a very good performance by the Huskies.
