We rolled up to Whaleback mountain and thought a plague had struck Enfield New Hampshire. Only a rusty pick up truck occupied the parking lot of this funny little mountain off of highway 89. I thought I had the wrong date or the wrong place or something. The lift was not turning. No other teams were there. I went inside the "lodge" and found someone in the back of the kitchen. Turns out we had the right place. The other teams showed up and the lift started to turn. We had the most fun at this "anti-resort", and we finished 4th overall.
Cold temps but a beautiful sun warmed our smiles as we practiced on Whaleback's glorified backyard slopestyle course. Kimbal Union Academy did their first ever hosting and did a marvelous job. Eight Lakes Region Schools competed and New Hampton fiished 4th for both girls and boys. We continue to knock at the top three. Overall this was the most consistant our team competed.
