Huskies Defeat Vermont Academy

The New Hampton boys' varsity lacrosse team defeated Vermont Academy 15 - 7 in Saxons River this afternoon.  The Huskies dominated play from the opening faceoff scoring 48 seconds into the game.  Senior midfielder George Jenkins led the scoring with 5 goals and 1 assist.  Christian Cook (2g, 3a) followed.  Seniors Kyle Stewardson, Nick Caruso and Derek Sirles all contributed two goals a peace.  Sophomore midfielder Lucas Caruso scored a goal and an assist.  Senior attackman Brandon L'Heureux added a goal and freshman middie Nate Barry added an assist.  

The defense, led by Ryan Delea played very well.  Senior Nick Maggio dominated the face-off X winning 16/18.  Jamie Kelly (6 saves) and Peter Cross (5 saves) split goal tending duties.  The Huskies next game is Wednesday, May 14.  This will be our seniors final home game and we will honor them at the beginning of the game.  Hope to see you there...
