The New Hampton baseball team traveled to MA to face Brooks School in the season opener. In a very competitive game, the Huskies fell short to a skilled Brooks team by a score of 4-1. The defense and pitching by New Hampton was solid throughout the game and kept it close. Unfortunately, the Huskies could not get the bats going against a tough Brooks lefty pitcher.
Case Marino, Harry Meehan, and Dom Petkus each threw the ball well on the mound for the Huskies. Petkus got out of a bases loaded jam with a big strikeout in the Bottom of the 6th inning to keep the game close.
Jackson Gates was the bright spot offensively for New Hampton as he recorded two hits on the day (the team only had 3 total).
The Huskies move on to a busy stretch with 5 games in 6 days in the upcoming week!
