Huskies Drop a Heartbreaker at Brewster

New Hampton traveled to Brewster for a late afternoon match against their Lakes Region rivals. The game was a hard fought battle with Brewster netting a 77th minute winner. Both teams had lots of chances throughout the match. Junior forward Brooke Nolan picked off a back pass in the 3rd minute to go in goal, but her attempt was blocked at the last second by a recovering defender. The Huskies had another good look midway through the second half, but a volley from freshman Kaelin Fitzpatrick from the top of the box found its way into the hands of the Brewster keeper. With 10 minutes to go, senior captain Lindsey Duggan's free kick from 20 yards out deflected off the wall and out of bounds. The ensuing corner kick bounced around the 6-yard box as the Huskies fought for possession, but Brewster was able to clear it.

The New Hampton backline of junior Jo Tattersall, senior Sam Rivet, senior captain Sera Hodgson, and junior Emily Greenwood had another stellar performance. Sophomore goalkeeper Anna Wolf played a great game in net in her first start of the season.
