The New Hampton Huskies have had their fair share of injuries this year, especially as of lately. Kaleb Godbout and Chris Lemay have been out since the beginning of the month with injuries, and now the Huskies can add Luke Albert to the injured list, after he was hurt midway through the Dexter game. Although being banged up, the Huskies look forward to a tough match up as they travel down to Meriden, NH to take on #4 ranked Kimball Union Academy this afternoon. From the opening faceoff KUA demonstrated why they are one of the best teams in Prep School hockey and controlled the pace of the game. After the first period of play, KUA had built up a 5-0 lead on the Huskies. In the second period, New Hampton did a better job of staying with KUA, but still gave up three goals, making the score KUA 8 New Hampton 0 after two periods of play. Jakov Novak was able to put the Huskies on the scoreboard in the third period, when he slammed home the rebound off of Max Osborne shot on the powerplay. The combination of New Hampton missing several top players and KUA being one of the top teams in Prep School hockey resulted in a 10-1 loss for the Huskies. The Huskies look to take a couple days off over the weekend and try to get healthy as they prepare to meet Vermont Academy Wednesday, February 17th with valuable Lakes Region Playoff points on the line.
