The Huskies looked to carry the momentum from yesterdays big win over St. Andrew's College in their game against Bridgton Academy this evening. The Huskies started the game creating several quality chances only to be denied by the Bridgton goalie. Finally around the 11 minute mark of the first period Josh Pope-Ferguson ripped a shot top shelf to beating the Bridgton goal to give the Huskies the lead. After the goal the Huskies seemed to relax a bit and Bridgton took advantage with less than two minutes to go in the period to tie the game at one. In the second period Bridgton started to take the play to New Hampton which lead to New Hampton taking penalties. Just before the 12-minute mark of the period, Bridgton was able to capitalize on one of their power plays to take the lead 2-1. However, Jakov Novak was set up by the hard work of Christian Thomas and Josh Pope-Ferguson 20 seconds later to tie the game for the Huskies. In the first 3 minutes of the third period, Cole Anderson scored assisted by Lukas Uhler and Cullen Cosgrove to put the Huskies back up on top. The Huskies looked to have the game in hand until just past the 13-minute mark when Bridgton scored knotting the game at three. Two minutes later, Bridgton scored again to take the lead and with less than 30 seconds left scored an empty netter to seal the victory. Even with Jacob Burhans stopping 27 of 31 shots the Huskies were not able to earn a victory tonight. The Huskies have a quick turn around and take on Bishop's College tomorrow morning in a chance to get back on the winning track.
