New England Championships @ Proctor Academy

After a quick pep talk about racing as if the season depended on the points from this race, (becasue it did), we loaded up the trailer of bikes and a bag of candy left over from Halloween for pre-race fuel and we were on our way to Proctor. We realized after the inspection lap that Proctor had an excellent course with nice flowing single track with just the right amount of rocks and roots. It also had a good amount of double track for plenty of passing oppurtunities. The start of the race was marred with a couple of big pile ups due to a narrow starting gate which aftected the B and C catergory riders. This lead to Egor Goz 17', with his worse finish in Category B for the season with 15th place. He was very frustrated to say the least. Losha Bowman '16, ended up sneaking by the crashes and pulled off his best finish yet with 28th place in Category C. J.R. Kreuzburg had the best race of the season and came in 3rd place in Category A. It ended up being a dramatic finish with him racing neck and neck with another rider for the spot and eventually securing 3rd place just 1 second ahead of the 4th place finisher. The perfect way to end the New England League series. Now we will spend this week training for Powder Keg. Our race will be held at Highland Mountain bike Park. WE WILL BEAT TILTON!
