Ecology in Costa Rica

Essential Question

How can we design conservation methods for sea turtles applying the data we collected?

Project Description

Students will travel to Puerto Jimenez on the Osa Pennisula of Costa Rica. Here we will gain research skills as we work alongside ecologists to monitor and collect data on Hawksbill and Eastern Pacific green sea turtles. At the beginning of the week, students will design a research project and will collect data throughout the week to answer their research question. By the end of the week, students will analyze their data and share their findings. On our journey inland to fly out, we will stop in the Central Highlands to observe the flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest.
