New Hampton's offense leads team to mercy rule victory

Michael Athanasoulas pitches well and New Hampton's offense was led by Hayden Week's 2 home runs.
The New Hampton Huskies traveled to Tilton School and came away with a dominant 14-2 6 inning victory.

New Hampton was led by a great offensive performance from junior centerfielder Hayden Weeks.  Hayden collected 4 hits on the day going 4 for 5 at the plate.  Hayden hit 2 home runs for the Huskies and drove in 4 runs on the day.  Weeks hit a solo home run deep over the fence in center field in the 2nd inning, and then hit another homer in the 6th inning that drove in 3 runs.  The Huskies exploded for 6 runs in the 6th inning which led to a 10-run rule victory for their 3rd league win of the year.

The Huskies scored 14 runs on 12 team hits.  Offensively, Michael Athansoulas had 3 hits on the day, Dom Petkus had 2 hits on the day, and Griffin Taylor continued to swing a hot bat going 1 for 3 on the day with a double.  Luke Moran also came off the bench and hit a triple in a pinch hit opportunity.

Michael Athanasoulas got the win on the mound for the Huskies.  The senior right hander pitched 5 complete innings giving up 4 hits and 2 runs while striking out 4 Rams batters.  Junior Kyle Farrell got his first action as a Husky pitching 1 complete inning in relief.  Kyle gave up 2 hits and no runs in the inning.

The Huskies improved to 3-0 on the season and will host St. Paul's in their next Lakes Region contest.
