Huskies Repeat as NEPSAC Small School Champions

DEDHAM, MA -

The huskies travelled down to Dedham, MA for a NEPSAC Small School rematch against Groton School. Both teams were ready to go, and the first period was full of chances for both teams. No one was able to capitalize, ending the first 0-0. Reese Luber '25 scored the first goal of the game on a husky power play off a beautiful pass from Julia Loughlin '24. The huskies were fired up after the goal and were able to hold off Groton to take a 1-0 lead going into the third. However, Groton came out swinging, tying the game early in the third at 1. The third continued to be back and forth, each team with their fair share of chances. Both goalies played well to keep the game at 1. With the third winding down, Caroline Thomas '25 capitalized on a sneaky pass from Kayleigh Michaud-Nolan '25 to give the huskies a 2-1 lead with under 5 minutes remaining in the game. Goaltender Vera Lee '24 made a few spectacular saves in the last two minutes to keep Groton off the board, even with their extra attacker. The huskies held on to win the NEPSAC Small School Championship against Groton for the second year in a row. What a way to end a great 2023-2024 season! Congradulations Huskies, and a huge thank you to all the seniors.
