Huskies Skate Past KUA in Lakes' Region Semis

NEW HAMPTON, NH -

The huskies were back at home for the Lakes' Region semifinal game against KUA. This was a rematch from last years' semifinal game, where KUA came back to win it in a shootout. The huskies didn't forget about that game, and kept it in the back of their mind to make sure they come out on top. The huskies started off strong in the KUA zone. Lily Thomas '26 opened the scoring with a beautiful finish, giving the huskies a 1-0 lead. Lily's linemate, Katie Usilton '26, added to the husky lead, making it 2-0. However, KUA came out hard as well, capitalizing on their chance, making it 2-1 going into the second. The second period was pretty back and forth, and KUA capitalized on their power play, tying the game at 2. The huskies weren't done however, and Kayleigh Michaud-Nolan '25 scored the huskies' go ahead goal, making it 3-2 at the end of the second. The third period was very close, with both teams having their chances. The period remained scoreless, even with KUA's final push in the dying minutes of the game. The huskies earn a hard-fought win, sending them to the Lakes' Region championship game against St. Paul's.
