Huskies Rally in OT to Defeat St. Mark's

SOUTHBOROUGH, MA -

The huskies were on the road to face off against a physical St. Mark's team. The huskies started off strong, dominating the offensive zone, but unable to capitalize. St. Mark's had a lucky bounce on their first shot of the game to take the lead 1-0. The huskies were able to tie the game short;ly after, with a beautiful shot from the point by True Thompson '25. However, the huskies couldn't keep St. Mark's off the board, and they scored the go ahead goal, taking a 2-1 lead going into the second. The huskies came out firing in the second. Julia Loughlin '24 scored the tying goal, and Caroline Thomas '25 scored the go ahead goal, to take the lead 3-2. However, St. Mark's had an answer, and tied the game at 3. The score was 3-3 going into the third. Both St. Mark's and the huskies came out hard in the third. Much of the period was back and forth, until the huskies got into penalty trouble. Husky goaltender Vera Lee '24 was able to keep them off the board, in her best period of the game. The third ended in a tie, so both teams headed into OT. The huskies needed a win in OT after the numerous ties throughout the season. Kelsey Baker '26 answered the call and scored the game winner for the huskies. Great bounce back 4-3 OT win!
