Huskies Finish Strong in Battle with Bulls

NEW HAMPTON, NH -

The Huskies hosted Lakes Region League rival Holderness School today in one of many home athletic contests promoting mental health awareness, an initiative spearheaded by senior Martina Pike and the NHS Bring Change 2 Mind Club. The game was close throughout, but some key defensive stops and timely makes from the charity stripe allowed New Hampton to pull away in the final minutes of the game.

New Hampton had balanced scoring with three players in double figures (Ne’vaeh Buntley -17, Elyse Ngenda – 13, and Tahlia Pena – 11). Casey Stores ‘27 chipped in with 8. Buntley ‘24 also led the Huskies in rebounds (8), steals (3), and blocks (3), while Pena ‘25 and Ava Perry ‘27 each dished 4 assists. Shout out to sophomore tri-captain Ngenda who displayed poise and strong leadership throughout today’s contest. Final Score:  NHS - 55, Holderness School - 47.

The Huskies look to finish 3-0 this week when they welcome St. Paul’s School on Saturday for a 2:30pm tilt and travel to Dedham, MA on Sunday to take on MacDuffie in the She Got Game Showcase at Noble & Greenough School. Go Huskies!
