Huskies Fall Short to an Experienced Hoosac Team

DEDHAM, MA –

Round two in the Shooting Touch Showcase, the Huskies took on an experienced Class AA Hoosac team. The Huskies started three freshmen, O’Leary, Schrader, and Ava Perry, who gave us strong minutes throughout the game. Tahlia Peña ’25 put us on the board right away with a deep three-pointer. Too many turnovers in the first quarter allowed Hoosac to score easy baskets on the other end. The Huskies battled back in the second quarter with a huge boost from Elyse Ngenda ’26 and Ne’vaeh Buntley ’24 on the offensive end scoring 20 points to Hoosac’s seven. Half-time score: Huskies up, 26 – 22. New Hampton struggled to put the ball in the basket in the third and allowed Hoosac to go on a 12-point run. Once again, the Huskies had to battle back and make defensive stops in the fourth to cut Hoosac’s lead, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to find victory. New Hampton falls 43 – 48.
