Huskies get their first win of the Season

Friday afternoon, the Huskies matched up with the Elite Cyclones in the Jacobson Arena for the last game of 2023. The Cyclones would set the pace at the start of the game and score within the first 30 seconds of the period. However, New Hampton would respond with a goal from Josh Ness followed by a second from Chase Fitch to make it 2-1 Huskies after the first period. Midway through the game, New Hampton would find themselves up 4-3 with goals from Josh Ness, and Jacob Resnick.  With the scoreboard tight and tensions running high, the third period began with several penalties being distributed after a brief scuffle in the Cyclones zone after a whistle. It would result in 3 penalties for New Hampton and 2 for the Cyclones. The Cyclones would shortly respond with the tying goal making it 4-4. It would be New Hampton’s Sam Chilbert who would battle through net-front traffic and bury the go-ahead goal making it 5-4 Huskies. New Hampton would lock down their D-zone with the support of Jamie Schatz between the pipes. The Cyclones would pull their goalie for the extra attacker, although they would be met with 3 more goals to make the final score 8-4 New Hampton.
