Huskies Hold Off Win in Final Minutes

On Saturday, the Huskies made the trek to Cushing Academy for their third game of the season. New Hampton would have a sluggish in the opening minutes of the game. Midway through the first, the Huskies would be on the penalty kill for a roughing call. However, shortly after the PK, Quinn Churchill would spring a pass to Griffin Taylor who would fire the puck past the Penguins goalie making it 1-0 Huskies. Taylor would continue to generate some more offense for his team as he would capitalize on a breakaway opportunity 20 seconds later, making the score 2-0 New Hampton. The Huskies would continue to battle into the second period. A stretch of penalties gave each team power play opportunities. Near the end of the third, the Penguins would bury a goal in the Husky net making it 2-1 NHS. The Huskies would spend the third period defending the lead as goaltender Hurst Tasha would come up big, stealing multiple scoring opportunities from the Penguins. The Huskies would manage to hold off the win with a 2-1 final.
