New Hampton Falls at Home

The Huskies fell to a deep and talented Class B Dexter Southfield team on Friday night of parents weekend.

The New Hampton backline of Fia Swormstedt '26, Elyse Ngenda '26, Heidi Smith '26, and Ingrid Bjornas '24 stood strong for the first 40 minutes, holding the potent Dexter attack scoreless while blocking shots and defending as a unit. As the defense worked hard to keep Dexter off the board, the offense would look to counterattack but were unable to score, with the game going into the half tied at 0-0.

In the second half, Dexter would start the scoring as they built a 2-0 lead before the Huskies struck back. Emily Hobausz '24 would look to play a through ball into the box that was then deflected off of the goalkeeper. Just as she had been all game, Ava Perry '27 would hustle for the rebound before playing it across the box for Kaelin Fitzpatrick '24 to tap it home and put the Huskies on the scoreboard.

New Hampton wouldn't be able to hold the Dexter attack at bay and the game would end at 4-1, despite the Huskies continuing to push through to the final whistle.

The Huskies are back in action on Wednesday at Brewster Academy.
