Huskies Draw at Home

New Hampton hosted Holderness on Saturday night in another tough Lakes Region matchup.

The first half would see the two teams look to open the score, but fail to find the back of the net. The Huskies closest attempt came twenty minutes in as Kaelin Fitzpatrick '24 put her free kick effort off of the cross bar.

Much of the first half would be a midfield battle, with New Hampton's rotation of Teagan Hurley '25, Emily Hobausz '24, Kaylie Reeve '26, and Katie Usilton '26 helping keep the tempo for the Huskies as they gained an edge in possession.

Twenty minutes into the second half, Holderness would get on the board first after earning a throw-in deep in the New Hampton end. The Huskies weren't able to clear their lines before the Holderness attacker put home the loose ball in the box.

Conceding the goal would seem to jolt the Huskies awake as they were able to equalize five minutes later on a Hobausz through ball that Fitzpatrick finished to level the score at one apiece. New Hampton would continue to threaten forward until the final whistle, but ultimately, they weren't able to break through the deep line of Holderness and the game would end in a draw.

New Hampton is back on the road on Wednesday as they take on Hebron Academy.
