Huskies Win on the Road
New Hampton took to the road on Wednesday evening as they faced off against Beaver Country Day School. The Huskies would struggle early on to execute as the Beavers were able to disrupt their attacking momentum. However, New Hampton's backline would hold strong and keep the score level at 0-0 going into the half.
New Hampton came out in the second half with a renewed purpose and were able to successfully press BCDS's backline through the outstanding work rate of Emily Hobausz '24, Kaelin Fitzpatrick '24, and Casey Stores '27. The Huskies would get on the board early in the second half after Stores played a pass on top of the box for Fitzpatrick who then turned her defender before finding the back of the net from distance.
New Hampton's second goal came from a well-worked sequence that saw Stores play back into the midfield to Reese Luber '25 who would then record her first assist of the season on a through ball to Fitzpatrick charging towards net from the right wing. Fitzpatrick would later finish her hat trick with five minutes remaining in the contest on a rebound from a well-hit Hobausz strike inside the box.
As the Huskies pressed throughout the second half, the midfield trio of Luber, Trinity Walsh '25, and Kaylie Reeve '26 would disrupt any potential BCDS counterattack before springing the New Hampton attack back in the other direction. With the Huskies working hard for their third straight shutout, the defense benefited from strong defensive play from Mack Hibbert '25 and Fia Swormstedt '26 who dealt with counterattacks out wide, while Elyse Ngenda '26 and Heidi Smith '26 stayed composed in central defense redistributing the ball.
