Huskies Lose Despite Out-Playing Holderness

The Huskies came out against Holderness with the mission to possess the ball and control the game.  We accomplished that and controlled the game as well as maintaining 90% possession.  To counter this, Holderness played a very deep line and waited to counter attack against the Huskies on any losses of possession.  In the first half the Huskies did a great job of creating chances on goal and snuffing out any chances for Holderness to counter, but there was no end result and we went into halftime still tied at 0-0.  Coming out to the second half it was more of the same.  Holderness sat back and the Huskies maintained possession, but were not creating as many chances with things like poor passes or loose touches leading to turnovers and counter attacks.  One of those counters resulted in a Holderness throw-in that bounced its way through 3 defenders and our keeper for a tap in at the back post by a Holderness player.  With less than 20 minutes left after Holderness went up 1-0 they went into full defensive mode and despite controlling the game the Huskies were unable to break through and get a goal back.  When the final whistle blew the result was a 1-0 loss for the Huskies on the day.
