In their season opener, the New Hampton School Varsity Field Hockey travelled down to Middlesex School for a matchup against a talented Middlesex team. While the final score was not indicative of the day's competition, it proved a great opportunity for New Hampton to kick off the season and work off some of the rust. On the day, the Huskies had some difficulty getting settled in the offensive circle. However, they worked tirelessly supporting their defensive unit and making runs up the field whenever they got in control of the ball.

Goalkeeper Mary-Ann McMaugh '25, in her first start as a Husky, stood out recording 9 saves on the day and shutting down 6 Middlesex offensive corner advances. 5 new players, Skyler Lacasse '25, Emma MacPherson '27, Caroline Thomas '25, Ireland Stark '26, and Ella Fischetti '27, recorded their first minutes as a Husky and should be commended for their efforts!

A busy week of practice ahead, the Huskies look forward to their first Lakes Region matchup against Brewster Academy on Wednesday.
