Midfield Controls Game as Huskies Dominate

Practice pays off in weekend match-up vs. Winchendon
A huge credit goes to our midfielders for winning the battle in the middle of the field and dictating play for much of the 90 minutes. We are incredibly pleased to see a number of players have great games and a couple more have breakout performances.

The Huskies came out with a no-nonsense attitude on Saturday. The game was played on a quiet campus with nearly every other team traveling for an away game, so the atmosphere was mellow even when the game was not.

Our players came out ready to possess and be patient on the ball, all while demonstrating clinical finishing in front of goal. We went up 2-0 quickly before Winchendon eventually worked their way into the game. The New Hampton boys played some of our best soccer of the season in the first-half and entered half-time with a comfortable lead.

However, the second-half saw a tenacious Winchendon side come to life and play very aggressively trying to work their way back into the game. We went up 3-0, only to let up our clean sheet with a neatly-worked goal by the opposition. Our striker sealed the deal with his second hat-trick of the season to end the game 4-1.

The Huskies are back in action on Wednesday against Proctor. The two sides met earlier this season in a great contest that ended 0-0.
