New Hampton Falls to Holderness in Tight Game

The Huskies traveled to Holderness School for a chilly afternoon game and fell to the Bulls 2 to 1. Holderness jumped on the board first after a sloppy defensive zone sequence. The Huskies failed to win puck battles along the wall and Holderness got a shot through from the point that was redirected into the net. New Hampton tied the game when Mason Kesselring skated into the zone and around the Holderness net, where he slipped a pass into the slot to Jacob Stoy who one timed it past the goaltender. The game remained tied until the third period when Holderness pick pocketed New Hampton in the neutral zone and went in all alone on a breakaway, beating goalie Alex Bechard. The Huskies pulled Bechard with just over a minute left and sent a flurry of shots on net, but none found their way through. The Huskies look to bounce back next Saturday when they take on Proctor Academy. New Hampton won the first battle with Proctor earlier in the season. Puck drop is set for 2:00 p.m.
