Leach throws no-hitter in game two of double header at KUA
Huskies were sound on both offense and defense in 16-1 win over KUA.
Maryellen Leach was solid in the circle in game 2 of the double header on Saturday, as she threw her second no-hitter of the season to lead Huskies past Kimball Union Academy 16-1.
An early lead helped propel Huskies to victory. Huskies scored on a single by Leach, a single by Ali Beaulieu, and a perfectly executed suicide-squeeze bunt by Lindsay Duggan in the first inning.
Huskies put up seven runs in the second inning. Huskies offense in the inning was led by Madison Willingham, Maddie Crowley-Cahill, Duggan, and Bailey Jenness who all drove in runs.
Huskies racked up 11 hits on the day. Leach and Duggan each managed multiple hits for Huskies. Duggan and Leach each collected two hits to lead Huskies.
