New Hampton School Huskies Nabs Win Over Hebron Academy Despite Early 5-Run Inning
Despite allowing five runs in the second inning, New Hampton School Huskies Varsity defeated Hebron Academy 17-9 on Wednesday.
New Hampton School collected 21 hits and Hebron Academy had eight in the high-scoring affair.
New Hampton got things started in the first inning when Nick Healey singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
New Hampton scored four runs in the third inning. New Hampton put the pressure on, lead by a single by Alex Rives, a sacrifice fly by Will Wood, and an error on a ball put in play by Ian Gobbi.
Jonny Leclair earned the win for New Hampton School. He went five innings, allowing nine runs on eight hits, striking out four and walking one. Gobbi threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
