Huskies emerge victorious against Wildcats

Apparently a steady rain was all the Huskies needed to get back in the win column as less than ideal conditions matched two of our early season wins. While not as cold, the rain did not help matters as everyone was chilled by the end of the first. Undeterred, your New Hampton Huskies had solid play in all three phases of the game. Despite some early penalties, we settled into our offensive groove thanks to some excellent face-off work by Matt '19. He's come a long way from the beginning of the season and as he goes, the team goes. The other big change was the ability to clear the ball when we made a defensive stop. Ian '20 braved the rain and made some great stops in the crease. These defensive stops allowed for middies to get out and run a bit. With fresh legs, lots of Huskies saw the field and there were great scoring opportunities for Nally '20, Suarez Flores '19, and Mahlmeister '20. Eli '18 saw his string of hitting the goalie or missing the net entirely look like it would creep to another game. However, the team banded together and with two great feeds he got back to his scoring ways and put two goals in the net to put the game out of reach for Dublin. A great team win that showed improvement in many of the areas that we've struggled in this year. No time to rest on our laurels and we have one practice and then play Proctor Friday afternoon! Great games against them last year, looking to continue that this season.
