Soggy Huskies can't beat Bobcats

James Pinkham
Coming off of a tough loss on the road in Maine, the New Hampton JV lacrosse team hoped that the friendly surroundings of New Hampshire would rally their spirits. This was not the case today as it was a mistake to be by the lake. With chilly drizzle, the boys never got off the bus and it was clear from the opening draw that injuires and absences would continue to hurt our efforts. Brewster's strong team controlled the pace of play and exectued their offense. The Huskies were timid around the goal and struggled to score with several shots missing wide. Lacking physicallity on defense, Brewster continued to execute and were never phased by the cold or rain.
Several bright spots included some excellent saves down the stretch by Ian '20 who brought energy to the defense and pushed for plays in transition. Matt '19 worked hard at the face-off dot even though he was consistently getting beat on the first move, he never gave up on the play and even turned in a goal after winning a draw to himself. Will '21 continued to distinguish himself on the defensive end and made some great plays with the ball in his stick. Overall, not the result we wanted but another bump in the road of a long season. We regroup to play KUA next week and look to get back to our winning ways.
