Senior game against KUA was a success!

For our last home game of the season, it was great to celebrate our seniors and pull off a win against Kimball Union Academy.
The Huskies played in their final home game. They started with a celebration to recognize our seniors: captain Meghan Evans, Nikki Bronson, Claudia Verona-Martinez Panisello, Weiwei Xiang, Lili Xu, and our manager Caragh Torphy.
The first period was a great start for the Huskies. Most of the game was in the offensive zone and the Huskies had their chances but the first period ended in a 0-0 tie. It wasn't until the second period when Zola Braswell received a pass from Brenna Crowder, and Zola let it rip from the blue line, scoring the first goal of the game. NHS continued to dominate the game, out shooting KUA, however the game stayed close. In the third period, Nikki Bronson took a shot from the point, and Taylor Healey was there for the rebound to score her first goal of the season. Ellie Beaudet had many offensive opportunities from the point. Cassidy Dumont and Guoshunran Liu had some close chances in front of the net. Jacqui Galea also had some great carries down the ice, but her shots went just wide of the net. At the end of the game, Nikki Bronson was recognized for her back-checking and stopping a few breakaways. Claudia Verona-Martinez Panisello was also recognized for her pressure around the net. Averill McCorkle picked up the shut-out in net.
