NHS vs. Brewster

The Huskies would travel to Brewster Academy to face the Bobcats in their second game of the season. The Huskies would look to develop team chemistry and earn their first victory of the season. New Husky MJ Peters '19 would start between the pipes.
The Huskies dominated the first period with sixteen shots and one shot against. However, a gritty Bobcat goalie would make some great saves in addition to poor shot selection by the Huskies, the score would remain 0-0 to end the period.
The Huskies came out with even more fire and would find the back of the net three times. Kinley Miller ’19 would start the scoring streak for the Huskies. She battled along the boards and came out with the puck, beating the defenseman in a foot race. She would draw the goalie to the far side of the post, sneaking the puck through the five-hole. Miller brought intensity and confidence to the Huskies with her first goal of the game (and of the season). Shortly after, Lauren DeBlois ’19 would score from the point on the Power-Play, with assists from Brianna Michaud-Nolan ’19 and McKenzie Haberl ’19. The Huskies would then go on the Penalty Kill, in which Kelly Matthews ’19 would block a shot and lead her in the direction of the Bobcat net. The goalie made the first save, but Matthews was able to find her own rebound and score a short-handed third goal to end the period.
The third period would be another great period for the Huskies. The Huskies found the back of the net four more times to give them a 7-0 win over the Bobcats. The final four goals were scored by Brianna Michaud-Nolan ’19, Riley Jordan ’18 and two from McKenzie Haberl ’19. MJ Peters ’19 would earn the shutout and give the team some confidence before they play Milton Academy on Saturday.
