The lady huskies opened with Boston-area foe Milton on Saturday. Two returning huskies had big games as Amelia Clairmont '19 put up 17 points paired with 7 rebounds while Eva Hodgson '18 contributed a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. In their first showing in New Hampton green, newcomers Amanda DeAngelis '20 and Sydney Noyes '19 were also ready to step up for gametime. DeAngelis '20 tallied 12 points and 9 rebounds while Noyes '19 scored grabbed 7 rebounds to go with her 8 points in the paint.
The Milton Mustangs scored the first two points of the game on a pair of free throws before New Hampton was able to take the lid off the basket and make a run. With the addition of full-court pressure, the huskies were able to extend a ten point lead and never look back. The huskies found success in transition and throughout the paint. With a nearly twenty point lead at half, the huskies slowed down the game in the second half, which allowed freshman Seraphina Hodgson '21 and Lexi Kesselring '21 to jump in and get some valuable minutes of experience.
