Huskies execute cleanly as they take down Pingree School
In what may have been the Huskies best performance of the season, the Husky defense causes six turnovers and get to the quarterback 3 times while the offense gained 622 total yards (421 on the ground) in a dominating performance against a very good Pingree squad.
Chuk Ezeli, Carter Dillon, and Jordan Collier led the Husky defense by finding the football and making heads up plays. Ezeli had a sack and 5 tackles, with three occuring behind the line of scrimmage. Carter Dillon had 5 tackles (two for loss) and was able to get to a defensive tip and turn it into an interception. Jordan Collier led the team in tackles with 6 (one for loss). Nick Spaulding found the quarterback in the backfield twice.
Adam Enxing, Mike Donnelly, and Isaiah White each had an interception as well. White picked off a bubble screen and took it 57 yards in the other direction for a touchdown. That was one of five trips to the endzone today for White who had 245 yards on fourteen carries and crossed the plain 4 times. The next two leading rushers coincidentally were Mike Donnelly (74 yards on four carries) and Enxing (69 yards on 10 carries and 1 td).
Additionally, Enxing accounted for 201 yards and 3 tds in the air. Carter Dillon was the leading receiver with 101 yards on 2 catches, both found the endzone. Anthony Gaines was next with 97 yards and 1 td on 4 catches against bracketed coverage.
Gaines also recovered an onside kick early in the second quarter off the foot of Jacob Cohen who went 9 for 9 on extra points and found the endzone late in the fourth.
David Fu sang the team off to the Long Weekend this weekend and the Huskies will take advantage of their bye week this next week. They travel to Dexter in two weeks time.
