Huskies host Ski Meet

The New Hampton Ski Team hosted the first Lakes Region ski race of the year Wednesday at Loon Mountain.  The competitors faced tough conditions in the giant slalom event as rain and subsequent sub-zero temperatures had turned the hill into rock-solid ice.  The racers were able to overcome the hard snow, cold temps--and in many cases, jet-lag--to put together a good showing at the first race of the year.

Junior Jack Kim led the Huskies in scoring with a 9th place finish, the first top-10 of his career.  Kim was supported by Senior David Fu in 13th place, also a personal best. Senior David Musicant (16th) and freshman Oliver Segal (21st) rounded out the scoring for the Huskies on the day, good enough to earn the team 4th place out of the 5 teams competing on the day.  Also skiing well for the Huskies was Senior Loy Durrant.

The Huskies travel next to Henniker, New Hampshire on Wednesday, January 15th to compete in a slalom at Pats Peak hosted by St. Pauls School.
