Huskies Win Thrilling Game Against Holderness 2-1, Lepisto Amazing in Net
Lara Arsenault
The Huskies traveled up the road to Holderness on Wednesday evening to take on the Blue Bulls. The game was back and forth with Holderness getting a lot of shots on net, which Sara Lepisto turned away. The bulls had some very fast skaters so our defense was busy. Kristina Doucette, Maya Chase, Maya Greenwald, Sunny Pojdl, Amy Lemonnier, and Jourdan Buchler took turns defending the Bulls, and the forwards did a great job back checking and helping out. The game was scoreless at the end of the first period.
In the second period Taylor Huyck scored on a nice pass from Jamie McBournie to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead. The third period was a battle! Eliza Solman, Emmy Fay, Amy Lemonnier, Taylor, Jamie, and Elizabeth Elcock were up and down the ice. Both teams were very evenly matched with some fast skaters, intense play, and Sara saving shot after shot. With 8:42 remaining in the third period Elizabeth was able to pick up a puck in the middle of the zone and shoot it past the goalie making the score 2-0. Less than two minutes later Holderness scored on a pile up in front of the net. However, the Huskies held on an the final score was 2-1.
