Connor Gorman ’11 to Represent United States Hockey in Russia

Connor Gorman ’11 was the leading scorer in prep school hockey in 2011, leading the New Hampton School Huskies to the finals of the NEPSAC Small School Tournament. Now he will trade the Husky green for the red, white, and blue of his country. Gorman, who will play junior hockey next year before starting his college career at Providence College, has been selected to play on the Team USA in the World Junior Hockey tournament in Omsk, Russia. 

Gorman will travel with several other player from the Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) at the end of August to compete against teams from Russia, Latvia, Slovakia, Canada, Sweden, Belarus and Finland.

Gorman, who hd 39 goals and 30 assists this past season, is thrilled ot make the all-expenses-paid trip, to compete for a gold, and experience a different culture.

”I am so excited to represent Team USA in the World Junior tournament and hope to come home with the gold”, Gorman told the Shrewsbury Lantern.

Gorman, who will depart on August 25, said that most of the players on the USA roster are Division I players.
