Huskies Blank Vermont Academy 9-0

The Huskies hosted Vermont Academy Wednesday afternoon and won by a score of 9-0. The Huskies scored four goals in the first period to take an early lead and they never looked back. Senior defenseman, Will Hilfiker, scored the first goal of the game on the power play. Steven Ardgana added to the lead moments later on a power play goal of his own. Later in the period, Cole Hipkin one-timed a puck into the net to take the 3-0 lead. In the final minute of the frame, Freshman defenseman, Nate Novitsky, scored a laser for his first goal in a Husky jersey. The Huskies kept playing strong as they added three more goals in the second period. Ryan Mahlmeister scored two of them, and Adam Shuchart scored one of his own. In the third period, the Huskies saw goals from Cory Morris on a breakway and Rhys Jones with only a few seconds left to play. Junor goaltender, Andrew Sayles, was solid in net and turned away the shots he faced to earn the shut out.
