New Hampton School vs. Phillips Andover Academy 2/6/16

The Huskies would travel to Andover, Massachusetts to face a talented Phillips Andover Academy hockey team. The Huskies would look to earn another victory to start their long weekend break.
The first period would be back-and-forth, where both teams would have a few scoring opportunities. Husky goalie, Cierra SanRoman ’17 would be a force in net, stopping two Andover breakaways. This would create momentum for the Huskies, as forward Kinley Miller ’19 would rush the puck to the net on multiple occasions. Both teams were unable to connect, ending the period in a 0-0 tie.
The Huskies would earn a Power Play in the second period, but would be unsuccessful as Lauren Deblois ’19 and Taylor Curtis ’17 would shoot just wide of the net. Shortly after, the Huskies would find themselves on a Penalty Kill, where Andover would score their first goal of the game. Both teams would find themselves in the box, creating a 4v4 situation, which would open the ice to create time and space. The Huskies were unsuccessful in scoring and Andover would take advantage of this by scoring their second goal of the game. The second period would end, as Andover earned a 2-0 lead over the Huskies.
With another fifteen minutes of hockey left, the Huskies were not ready to give up. Defensemen Julia Lee ’17 and Kayla Milofsky ’17 would shoot from the point, creating rebounds and plays in front of the Andover net. The Huskies would be unsuccessful in that period, where Andover capitalized again, earning a 3-0 lead. Although the Huskies would be shutout, the fight would never end. The Huskies would play down to the very last second.
