Tilton too Much for the Huskies

New Hampton faced off against Lakes Region rival Tilton tonight. The game started out well for the Huskies in the first period, playing solid defense and holding Tilton to only three shots on net. New Hampton created several scoring chance but were unable to capitalize, while Tilton was able to find the back of the net on one of their three shots. Heading into the second period the momentum was still on the Huskies side despite being down 1-0. However in the second period, Tilton turned on the pressure and scored a breakaway goal just over 5 minutes into the period extending their lead. New Hampton got right back into the game when Luke Albert scored 15 seconds later on a nice individual rush to cut Tilton's lead in half. A Husky penalty that resulted in a power play goal by Tilton a little over minute later stole all of New Hampton's momentum. Tilton took control of the game from there on out resulting in a final score of Tilton 6 and New Hampton 1. Jacob Burhans and Thomas McLarnon split time in net both playing well but in the Tilton deserved the victory they earned against New Hampton. New Hampton looks to put quickly put this game behind them and get ready for a big game against Phillips Andover on Friday night at Andover.
