Jacobson Arena Groundbreaking

Members of the men's and women's varsity hockey teams joined the trustees to celebrate the beginning of construction on Jacobson Arena. Head of School Andrew Menke introduced Dean Jacobson ’68 by lauding him for his vision in support of the project. Menke noted, "Evidence of Dean’s commitment to the School is found in his leadership gift to Jacobson Arena, and also through his years of service as a trustee. Without his faith in New Hampton School and our hockey programs, this project would not have happened." Chairman of the New Hampton School Board of Trustees Peter Galletly ’73 remarked, "New Hampton School will have a state of the art athletic facility to serve the current students, and help the coaches to bring new students and families to our community."

 

Site preparation began earlier this month. The construction company will work into November pouring half of the foundation. After a winter break to allow for frozen ground, construction will recommence on February 22, 2016.
