Huskies Offense on Fire in Win over Kents Hill

Coach Smith
Braces from Garrett Bolton and Dom Thomas help lead Huskies to victory.
On a gorgeous Fall afternoon, New Hampton welcomed visiting Kents Hill School to Kennedy Field. The Huskies needed just 4 minutes to get on the board. A Dan Smushkin corner kick pinged off the far post and right to the boot of Dom Thomas who shot home from close range. Garrett Bolton was the next to tally for New Hampton, finding the back of the net off a flick-on from a Guthrie Little throw-in on 10 minutes. Thomas added his second in the 12th minute as he broke down the left side of the field, holding off a Kents Hill defender and flicking hom from 15 yards out with a deft toe poke that whipped past the keeper and into the far corner. Bolton was the next to earn the brace with a 35th minute goal. Husky midfielder Fernando Travessoni held off two defenders just long enough for Bolton to streak into the box where Travessoni found him with a perfectly weighted pass. Bolton collected the ball, took one touch, and blast into the low left corner. Forward DJ Leary closed out the scoring with an 89th minute goal. Freshman Nate Lamprey broke down the left side, beating a Kents Hill defender on the edge of the box and chipping to the far post where a waiting Leary volleyed back across the net into the far corner.

Huskey keepers Henrik Barbin and Alexy Terry combined for the shutout. Barbin finished the day with 3 saves and Terry with 5.
