Justin Carey
Vermont Academy scored 4 runs in the 4th inning to propel the Wildcats to victory.
The New Hampton Huskies traveled to Vermont Academy on Friday evening and suffered their 2nd loss of the season losing 6-1 to the Wildcats.

Senior Michael Athanasoulas started on the mound for the Huskies and was in a groove early in the game.  During the 4th inning, a few timely hits and a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt led to the Wildcats jumping out to a 4-0 lead.  Michael ended up pitching 4 1/3 innings allowing 4 hits and 6 runs while striking out 6 batters.  Freshman Canyon Cochran came in for relief and pitched the final 1 2/3 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run while striking out 1 batter.

Vermont Pitcher Milo Tucker kept the Huskies offense off balance all game.  The lone run came in the 5th inning on a Ryan Carey single that scored Griffin Taylor.  The Huskies could only gather 4 hits on the day.  Ryan Carey, Finn Glidden, Kieran McNamara, and Canyon Cochran each had hits for the Huskies.

The Huskies will host Brewster on Saturday for a double header.  The first pitch of game one is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
