September Athletes of the Month

The Female Athlete of the Month is awarded to Caelin Flaherty, a member of the Varsity Field Hockey Team. Caelin plays a crucial position for the team at center back and manages to cover the entire field up and down without seeming to tire. In the game versus Proctor Academy, Caelin scored a beautifully executed stroke and was central in setting up many of the team’s other scoring opportunities. She plays hard every minute of each game and practice and does so with a positive attitude and incredible work ethic.   

 

The September Male Athlete of the Month goes to Christian Everett a member of the varsity football team. Christian arrived to Husky Nation only a month ago, but has made an impressive mark already. He was pressed into the role of QB due to injuries and has easily acclimated to that leadership role. In his first game at the helm, Christian totaled 117 yards rushing including touchdowns of 17, 35, and 6 yards. He also teamed up with Auden Menke over the middle for a 28 yard touchdown to put the Huskies up 22-7, just minutes into the 3rd quarter. Coach Marcella comments on this athlete saying, “Christian’s ability on the field is exceeded only by his character off it. He is a tremendous asset to an already impressive student body and school community. The good news for us is that he is still learning and getting better— and the better he gets, the better we’ll become.”
