    Led by a coach with international experience, the New Hampton School men's tennis program helps every player maximize their potential and performance within their own unique style of play. The NHS program has a strong sense of identity and purpose, firmly rooted in a long and rich tradition on and off the court that has produced numerous Lakes Region Championships and college-ready players.

    Coaches work closely with players players to build and strengthen every stroke based on their current ability level. We also educate players on not only how to hit the ball, but also how to "play" the game at the highest level.

    Drawing on years of experience as a player and coach, tennis director Veronica Lima-Deangelis teaches players advances tactics and strategies for competition. Training and the practice of both defensive and attacking game are developed on a daily basis. The NHS program emphasizes the development of basic physical skills such as endurance, strength, speed, and flexibility. We want our players to love the game, whether they are watching the game or playing the sport.

    NHS players compete in singles in doubles in two matches each week during the season. Their experiences allow them to become a better person and player. Players will develop short and long-term goals and will be taught self-reliance, the importance of self-esteem, discipline, respect, time management, responsibility, and teamwork.

    With nine hard courts and a professionally trained coach, NHS boasts a facility and the expertise that can help shape top-notch student-athletes. The men's team has a tradition of excellence and has enjoyed a great deal of success during the past 18 years.

    It was a beautiful day for tennis but, the huskies faced a very tough team in KUA. Juan Carlos was the only player to win their match.

    The Huskies travelled to Brewster to take on the Bobcats. Missing our top 4 the huskies were left with no choice but to turn to their exhibition players. Unfortunately, they could not pull through.

    On a great sunny day, the Huskies took on proctor for one of the few home matches this season. Excited to play at home the Huskies stepped onto the court energized and got a big shut out win.

  • NHS Wins Over Cardigan

    Due to the Weather the scoring format was changed to 8 game pro set. Starting with doubles, Fred and George played an amazing match on a rubber surface which made the balls move very fast, however they came away victorious winning 8-6. Jake and Oak, won in a tiebreaker after an incredible comeback. Fred had a tough match, showing everyone there his pro like inside-out forehand, he came away with a win at 8-6. George played consistent tennis getting an 8-1 victory. All the huskies that played were determined to win.

  • Huskies Back on Track

    On Beautiful Wednesday Evening, The Huskies travelled to Vermont to Battle the Wildcats. Facing Injuries and Illness the huskies managed to pull together their starting six. Fred started strong winning the first set 6-4, unfortunately his oppenent had to forfeit the match due to injury. George Shegog, played two beautiful sets winning 6-3, 6-3. Jake continues to dominate on the court. Juan Carlos stepped up to the #5 spot and came away victorious. Tyler Morrissette, got his first official singles win, winning in two sets 6-3, 6-3. The Huskies look build off of this win as the season progresses and as we travel to Governor's Academy on Monday.
