  • Basketball Men's-Varsity A

    2018 - 2019
    Head Coach: Nickolas Whitmore

The Men's Varsity A Basketball Program is recognized as one of the premiere prep school programs in the country. It is an elite team that attracts top student-athletes from all over the country and the world, molds them into a tight, cohesive unit, and prepares them for success on the court and in the classroom in college. With a strong focus on skill development and playing the "right way," New Hampton School players are ready for the rigors of college. Players are given every opportunity to showcase their skills to college coaches, and with the help of the coaching staff, work to find the appropriate college destination. The Varsity A team also strives to teach student athletes how to be exemplary students and productive members of the New Hampton community.

The Huskies are led by Head Coach Nick Whitmore. Whitmore has a combined seventeen years of coaching experience at the high school, AAU, and collegiate level. Prior to his arrival at New Hampton, Whitmore coached at the University of San Francisco where he helped lead the Dons to a 21-12 record, a second place WCC finish, and a berth in the National Invitation Tournament. Before joining Rex Walters’ staff at USF, Whitmore served as the Head Basketball Coach at Drew School in San Francisco, co-founded the AAU program Bay City Basketball, and was a part of the basketball programs at the University of Rhode Island and Boise State University. In his first season as Head Coach, Whitmore led the Huskies to a 22-9 record.
