  • Golf Coed-Varsity

    2017 - 2018
    Head Coach: Bo Cramer

The New Hampton Varsity Golf team competes in the spring season against other Lakes Region schools. During the preseason, while we wait for the snow to melt, the team practices on our very own indoor simulator where the team can play on various PGA courses. Using this and recording each golfer hit the ball, golfers on the team analyze their swings, identify faults in their mechanics, and perform various drills to overcome these flaws. In addition the team has workout routines, stretching exercises, and matted areas to works on their putting skills.

Once the weather is warm, the team is fortunate to practice and play home matches at Laconia Country Club. The course is among the finest in New Hampshire and the facilities are extraordinarily well maintained. At Laconia the players have a wide array of practices to use, including the driving range, putting green, chipping green, and “Old Seven,” a short hole no longer used on the main course, but maintained for advanced players to work on their approach game.

The team competes in match play and typically has matches on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Our top six golfers compete in the matches and an ongoing weekly ranking system determines where each player will be placed for the next upcoming match. Our season culminates with a Lakes Region Championship Tournament which is generally held at Lake Sunapee Country Club. Skill development, sportsmanship, and golf etiquette are all important aspects of the program and stressed throughout the season.

If you have any further questions about the golf program, please contact head coach Bo Cramer at bcramer@newhampton.org for more information.

And Burwell contributed a solid 36 points with a score of 87. The team came prepared, played confident, and enjoyed themselves on the course, ultimately resulting in a definitive win with a team total of 190 points.

The team would like to thank everyone that supported our golfers this season. Thank you to the New Hampton School Athletic Department, the staff at Laconia Country Club, and the parents of the players. Thank you as well to Proctor Academy and Lake Sunapee Country Club for hosting the final tournament. The team will miss the graduating seniors of Michael Kesselring, Michael Kane, and Pat Roth, but we wish them the best and hope they continue to find success in their golf careers. The returning golfers will play tournaments over the summer, improve their games, and prepare for another successful season in the spring of 2019.

  • New Hampton and Tilton Split a Second Time

New Hampton and Tilton were both down players, but still managed to have a competitve match and ultimately result in another tie. Lynden Breen (1) shot a team low of 39, but lost his match to Tilton's 1 on their eighth of hole play. His partner, Jess Burwell (2) won her match and the two won the final hole to split the pairing's best ball with Tilton. Alvaro Bort (3) struggled with some illness before the match started, but still battled with his opponent before ultimately losing. His parter Louis Liang (4) won his match and the pairing also split the best ball. Alec Grace (5) lost his match early, but found his stride after the 5th hole and helped his teammate Michael Kane (6) split the best ball. Kane also won his match. A dissapointing tie, as both teams wanted a definitive end, but the two teams are now set to compete head to head in the Lakes Region Championship on Wednesday.
