The Men’s Varsity B hockey program is comprised of young athletes looking to develop and grow as hockey players. With a coaching staff that brings experience from the NCAA and professional level, the program is designed to improve players' skills, ice awareness, hockey IQ, and most importantly, work ethic.
We play a very competitive schedule against other prep schools and junior programs, which prepares players to move up to the Varsity A level. Multiple Varsity B players have made the jump to Varsity A.
Coach Gorman has many years of hockey experience as he begins his transition from playing to coaching. Gorman is a 2011 graduate of New Hampton School where he led the NEPSAC in scoring during his senior year. The Huskies also made it to the NEPSAC Division I small school finals that year, upsetting powerhouses South Kent School and The Gunnery. Gorman went on to play one season of junior hockey with the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs in the EJHL, where he won a Dineen Cup Championship and was an EJHL All-Star, before matriculating to SUNY Plattsburgh. During his time at Plattsburgh, Gorman played in over 100 games and was a two time SUNYAC All-Conference player.
Gorman was also a member of the Plattsburgh lacrosse team. Following graduation, Gorman played two years of professional hockey with the Peoria Rivermen of the Southern Professional Hockey League, and also spent time with the Quad City Mallards of the East Coast Hockey League. Gorman has worked for many power skating and skills coaches, and looks forward to bringing his knowledge of the game to all hockey players.
