Huskies' Season Ends in Playoff Thriller

The Huskies entered playoffs for the first time since the early 2000s, but you would not have known that based on how we played. As the #7 seed, we traveled to #2 Nobles in Dedham, MA. 

After a few weeks of incredible training intensity and momentum-building, the guys were fired up to make their mark. Unfortunately we conceded four minutes into the game off a set piece and had to claw our way back. As our guys have proved all year, we are a resilient team with a never-say-die attitude. We leveled the score by half-time and controlled solid chunks of the first half. 

For the casual observor, there would have been no way to tell which team was the #2 seed and which was the #7. After warming up inside during half-time there was a feeling that this game was ours to win and the feeling going back out was electric.

We capitalized early and took a 2-1 lead. Nobles was clearly shaken, but we had angered them and they came to play after that. Despite mounting pressure from our opponents, we still continued to control much of the game. However, Nobles eventually found the equalizer and then went on to find the winner with about 10 minutes left on the clock.

We threw everything we had at them in the dying minutes to no avail. We went toe-to-toe with the big boys but could not find the result. Our season ended in Dedham after an incredible from the team.

This has been an historic season that saw us finish 2nd in the Lakes Region League, qualify for playoffs, have two players named All-NEPSSA, and three players to be named All-Lakes Region.

Coach Driscoll and I are incredibly proud of the grit, passion, and skill that has been on display from these resilient Huskies since August. We wish our seniors all the best in their future endeavors and will begin building for next year.
