Huskies Push Past Proctor

The Huskies came out energized and ready to play after the long weekend. Proctor came out fast, but so did the Huskies. The Huskies were the first on the board in the first half with a beautiful goal from Haley Stanley assisted by Amelia Monahan. The Huskies maintained possession in the first half, showing off our strong self-starts, redefending, and hustle throughout the field, especially in the midfield. Offense was creating amazing opportunities for goals in Proctor’s defensive circle, and we knew we were on the cusp of capitalizing. After a slew of shots on goal and two impressive Proctor defensive saves, the Huskies launched a shot headed in goal, but a Proctor defender’s foot blocked the shot from going in. This gave the Huskies an opportunity we had not had yet this season, a stroke! Amelia Monahan took a strong push pass to the right that slid past the goalie and put us further ahead of Proctor.

The second half was still controlled by the Huskies, but Proctor came out with a newfound fire and intensity that we were able to adjust to. Kathy Donnelly had some great saves when Proctor made its way into our circle and snuck shots through our strong defense. In the last few minutes of the game, Proctor drew an offensive corner and were able to score. After this goal was an important time for the Huskies to stay composed and keep doing the great things that we had been doing all game. We maintained possession and kept pressuring Proctor offensively until the game ended. It was a very good game with excellent effort throughout the field. Great day to be a Husky!
