Huskies return from long weekend ready to play

After a long break, the Huskies were well rested and focused on the task at hand. Huskies got right to work after the opening whistle, dominating the first half. The pressure was on the Bulls to keep New Hampton out of the circle, but Huskies wouldn't let up. In the first five minutes of play, Huskies earned a penalty corner which was not perfectly executed, but recovered by Ava Golash setting up Kareena Alam for a beautiful shot into the back of the weak side corner. The pressure continued and Alex King had a couple of excellent shots on net which were denied by the hard-working Holderness keeper. As the half counted down, Golash got her opportunity to put one past the Bulls. Exactly two minutes later, Emily LaCroix crossed the ball perfectly to Subhana Branche for her first season goal to put a third on the scoreboard. In the the second half the Bulls created more opportunities for themselves, but were no match for the Husky's defense. A few changes in personnell for New Hampton allowed other stars to emerge. Playing forward for the first time of the season, Sophia Shwartzman got her first scoring opportunity and made good on it on a breakaway in the middle of the second half. The final goal was came off a loose ball in front of the net off from a rebounded shot which Emily LaCroix captured and and swept in. The Huskies take on KUA 10/30 for our final home game and Senior celebration.
