Hotly-Contested Match Results in Win

Second-half performance enough to secure the victory against Tilton
Local rivals, Tilton, came to campus for the first of two match-ups this season and brought the energy, attitude, and battle these games are known for. The Lakes Region League is our number one priority this season and our guys recognize the stakes involved in games like this one with so much history between the teams.

Tilton came out early with high pressure and swarmed our backline in hopes of causing a turnover and chances on goal, but it was our Huskies who scored first go ahead. The Rams responded immediately and were back on level terms before the half ended.

Tempers were short and quality soccer was lacking from both sides in a fierce, first-half battle. An explosive, motivating half-time talk led by our leaders got the guys fired up for the second half and the impact was felt immediately. We scored two minutes into the half and took over the game from that point forward.

The Rams had a couple good chances to equalize, but we scored two excellent goals to make it 4-1. A beautiful team goal, neatly finished inside the six-yard box, was the third. A wonder-goal, curled from well-outside the box, was the fourth.

We will see Tilton again at the Powder Keg on November 9th to conclude the regular season.
